Group Fitness is where aerobics left off. It’s the new generation of fitness classes and G-Force Fitness together with Les Mills has the very best. Designed to keep you energized, these classes take activities like dance, weightlifting and yoga, sets them to amazing music and delivers great results. YOUTH MENTOR PROGRAM

Help us make a difference in a child’s life!  In as little as 1 hour you can make an impact!

 

Join us this spring and summer in mentoring a child in need; keeping them safe and healthy.

 

Bring a child, 14 and older, to any of our group classes for quality time and fun.

 

Keeping our kids safe and healthy is our mission, so all mentored kids are FREE!
 

 

Stats:

 

Approximately 19% of children (ages 6–11) and 17% of adolescents (ages 12–19) are overweight. An additional 15% of children and adolescents were at risk for overweight (based on BMI / body mass index measures).**

About 25% of young people (ages 12–21 years) report no vigorous physical activity, and 14% report no recent vigorous or light to moderate physical activity (e.g., walking, bicycling).**

 

In addition to making children more confident in their schoolwork and more trusting of their parents or guardians, mentoring makes students

 

52% less likely to skip school;

46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs;

37% less likely to skip a class;

27% less likely to begin using alcohol; and

33% less likely to hit someone.

 

There are so many kids out there who’d be much better off if someone took some time to connect with them.

Hear what’s on their mind and give them some good advice once in awhile. That’s what mentoring is all about.

You don’t need a fancy degree. You just need to be yourself, and share what you’ve learned from your own life experiences. It’s really that easy.  And chances are, if you put a little time in, you’re both going to get a lot out if it.  

A kid’s world is a good place to find yourself.

The myths about weight training do not ever seem to go away! Keep up with us this summer as we go through each myth and explain why it is just that...a MYTH!

MYTH # 1 - Weight training makes Women Bulky and Masculine.  

Due to the fact that women do not, and cannot, naturally produce as much testosterone (one of the main hormones responsible for increasing muscle size) as males do, it is impossible for a woman to gain huge amounts of muscle mass by lifting weights. The professional female bodybuilders, that many people think of, had to use anabolic enhancer’s to get to that point.  Women who weight train without the use of anabolic enhancer’s can, however, develop a shapely and well proportioned physique by lifting weights.

 

In FACT....Muscle burns more calories than fat. That means any growth in your muscle tissue is going to help you burn more calories all day long. Lifting weights can help you decrease your risk of osteoporosis, and can reduce your risk of injury, back pain and arthritis.

 

So, don’t be afraid to start weight lifting, or to increase your weights in the gym or in class!

SUMMER SCHEDULE UPDATES!!!

Starting July 10th our Saturday schedule will be changing.  

 

BodyPUMP will now be held from 9:00am to 10:00am every Saturday during the summer.

 

BodyFLOW and BodyCOMBAT will be from 8:00am to 9:00am by sign up only.  If you would like to take one of these classes, please sign up at the front counter.  Class must be pre-paid for in advance.
